A five day itinerary, following the Northern Lights.
Our Finnish adventure began with a flight from Milan to Helsinki. After a quick dinner and beer, we settled into our accommodation and ate at restaurant Natura to taste Finnish cuisine.
Day 1, Arrival in Helsinki.
After a short flight from Helsinki to Rovaniemi we started our road trip at Santa Claus Village, a place where it feels like Christmas all year long. We ate at Roka Kitchen and Wine Bar and joined the Arctic Adventure Northern Lights tour to chase the Northern Lights.
Day 2, the Northern Lights.
Day 3, Tundrea.
We drove for hours through snow-covered landscapes to reach Tundrea, the northernmost part of the country. Our accommodation at the Holiday Resort offered an amazing local dinner and a spectacular view of the Northern Lights from our room.
Day 4, to Inari.
After a relaxing sauna , we embarked on a four-hour drive from Tundrea to Inari, a journey that proved to be the most beautiful road trip we had ever undertaken. The desolate beauty of the snow-covered route was punctuated only by a charming roadside stop at Tieva-Baari Ky, where we enjoyed a quick lunch. Our accommodations at Hotel Village Inari offered a beautiful view, and the dinner at Ukko Restaurant an elegant selection of local dishes.
